Volvo V70 P2 2006 2.4 Petrol 170bhp Estate SE Įxperience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember I use Navcoder through a Resler iBus interface and to connect up I start the car, then the PC with the resler connected, then start up Navcoder, and refresh the port.ĭo it always with engine running, save your battery. Make sure you always plug the cable into the same USB port as this reduces the chances of the com port being re-assigned to a different number.Īlso, you might want to follow the connection procedure as used with the All Comms lead and software which give a connection everytime: IIRC you need to look in device manager to see which com ports are being assigned and you can then assign them in Navcoder (you have to refresh in Navcoder each time you start the program). I don't get that now, which leads me to believe the usb on the laptop isn't set properly again.

When it did work for a brief period last night, I had a little pop from the drivers door speaker when I connected to the obd2 socket. To be fair, I'm gonna have to roll back my laptop, and start again, as I've added obd2 software, and RSW All Comms and the BMW lead and Navcoder, and they all seem to want to use the same ports, with perhaps different settings. So its still not talking to the car, and I'm pretty livid now, as I've now flattened the car battery, so I won't be going anywhere today. Who knows what the hell you are supposed to do. I reboot, I connect to the car whilst the ignition is on, and with it off, I start navcoder after I've connected to car, and before. I'm pretty sure the lead is good (it gives a red light when plugged into the car), and its my laptop, as I read things about it has to be on com 1, but com 1 is used, I then change drivers, and change them back, and try com 5, as thats where it gets added when I reinstall the drivers.

Well, I got my Navcoder registration key this morning, so went out to the car to attempt to enable voice recognition, and I can't get any response from the vehicle to Navcoder again. I'm using the obd2 port on the car, which apparently the latest version of Navcoder can use. I have no problem registering it, but I'd like to know it talks to the Rangie first. I've been mucking about with this for nearly 3 hours now.Īre we saying that Navcoder will only actually work if you register it ? When I try and scan for vehicle id or service bits, it just says "No response from vehicle", but it seems to detect data. I've done an update, with the beta box ticked, and Navcoder seems to recognise the lead when I connect it as COM1. I've just got a BMW Diagnostic USB lead, which says its tested with Navcoder īut I can't get any results from using the unregistered version of Navcoder. I've done a search but can't find what I'm looking for.
